The Maths Mum® "Maths for Life" - Lesson 4 with Lance & Ella

Here is an outline of the maths that was being worked on / assessed:

1.  Setting the timers - giving a sense of how long 20 minutes is; using two different timers to show that time is the same no matter which clock you use.

2. 'Count how many...' up to 10 - trying to working independently - reading the question, counting and writing the answer in the answer space.

3.  Quick comparison - more or less

4. 'Count how many...' up to 20 - it takes stamina to get into the late teens and also a way of recording what items have been counted.

5.  What number is under... - looking at number sequences to 10 - writing both up and down and identifying the covered number; moved on to numbers from 11 to 20.

6.  Writing a number line up to 20 with the numbers as words as a guide.

7.  Simple addition - worked out by adding on with concrete objects and checked using a calculator.

29 minutes of maths!!!  Well done Lance and Ella - gold stars for both of you.
