Pre Number maths skills for toddlers
Maths skills start long before involving numbers and quantities. Before you can count, add, measure, or do anything else with numbers, you have to learn ‘prenumber' concepts. For example, you can’t count how many blue square you there are until you can recognise the colour blue and the shape square. You can’t tell which number is bigger until you know what the word ’big’ means. Children need to develop prenumber skills before the can start to count.
